Cristo Risorto
Private collection
Igorski paints icons following the oldest models and techniques: the face is not the artist's invention but the transmission of a thousand-year-old canon. This icon of the Risen Christ, made on commission in miniature format, includes an element chosen together with the client: a cross of salvation added at the center of the composition, on the chest.
Christ is shown in the act of blessing, holding the scroll of Scripture in his other hand: an image of victory over death, among the most significant in Easter iconography.
Made in vinyl tempera on plywood, in a compact format meant for personal devotion.
A commissioned icon: from € 100
