Smeraldo
Private collection
Smeraldo grew out of a personal moment: the feeling that something solid had broken, and the question of what remains when it does. The surface is built like a gemstone seen up close, cracked into dozens of fragments that still hold together.
The cracks are not the end of the form, but its new structure: each fragment, however small, is still stone, and broken stone is still solid ground to build on again. It is a piece about the path forward, about starting over, about knowing that a fracture does not undo the foundation.
First piece in the Astratto category of the portfolio. Acrylic on canvas, 50 × 70 cm.
