Roma · Il Foro Romano

The Temple of the Dioscuri, three columns holding up a fragment of entablature, is often the first encounter with ancient Rome: the first thing you see walking down toward the Forum, before even understanding what has survived and what has been rebuilt. This piece grew out of that first impression.
The drawing of the temple is layered over the street grid of the city around it today, as if the monument and the map belonged to the same moment, read at two different distances: the stone up close, the urban fabric that holds it from farther away.
This piece belongs to the Roma collection, a series of postcards born in the digital realm. The collection also includes the Colosseo and the Fontana di Nettuno. Every subject is available as a physical print on professional paper; formats and new subjects on request.
