Il Ritratto di E...

She, whom they called the most beautiful woman in the world, had a name: Giulia Gonzaga. The «E» in the title is not a hidden initial, but an echo: that of Helen of Troy, to whom Cardinal Ippolito de' Medici compared her beauty in a dedication written in his own hand.

The portrait born from this story, commissioned by Ippolito in the sixteenth century, surviving only in copies, and today reinterpreted by Igorski, was unveiled in Fondi on 22 August 2026, as part of Vivila 2026.

↓ The full story, with Ippolito's letter and the connection to «Vita Interrotta», continues in the artwork card below.
